Southview Movie Night
On August 24 Southview Terrace Apartments (southview) , located in Hibbing, held an outdoor movie night! The feature presentation was Zootopia (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/zootopia/) , a Disney animated movie that follows Officer Judy Hopps, the first bunny on the Zootopia Police force. Just like at the movie theater, snacks were an essential item! A variety of candy, chips and soda were served. As night approached, about 30 residents made themselves comfy in lawn chairs and on blankets, and settled in for Southview’s first-ever movie night. Night to Unite
On Tuesday, August 2, 2016, many Thies & Talle Management communities celebrated Night to Unite 2016. Despite the temperature nearing 90 degrees and it being so humid you could swim without ever putting your toe in the pool, all of our communities had great turnouts! Night to Unite is an effective and fun way to get to know neighbors and prevent crime. Each neighborhood decides how they want to celebrate Night to Unite. Gatherings can be as elaborate or as simple as you like. We would like to thank all of our team members who worked hard putting these events together. Here are some of the highlights from Night to Unite 2016. Cutters Grove Apartments (cutters) , located in Anoka, had a live DJ spinning tunes all evening, a visit from the Anoka Police K-9 unit, a clown and tons of food! Maple Ridge Apartments (maplerigdge) , located in Maplewood, had raffle prize giveaways, a caricature booth, games, food and a hula dancing competition! Plymouth Ponds Apartments (plymouthponds) , located in Plymouth, had a mini petting zoo, pony rides, a bouncy house, food drive and they got a visit from the Plymouth Police! Somerset Oaks Apartments and Townhomes (somerset) , located in St. Louis Park, had games, contests, food, trivia and raffle prize drawings!
Prairie Tree Gives Back Week
From June 13 – 16th, residents and staff members of Prairie Tree Apartments (properties/prairie-tree-apts-rapid-city.html) , located in Rapid City, SD, participated in their first annual “Give Back to the Community Week.” The week started off with a food drive that benefitted Feeding South Dakota (https://www.feedingsouthdakota.org/) , a local hunger relief organization, that helps provide food assistance to more than 21,000 hungry individuals and families. Donations were accepted at the Prairie Tree Office and at donation bins throughout the property. In total, the community collected 75 lbs. of food! Tuesday marked the start of the week long pet drive that benefitted the Humane Society of the Black Hills (https://hsbh.org/) . The Humane Society of the Black Hills has been helping lost and abused animals for nearly 50 years. Over 4,800 animals are helped each year, some of whom are now residents at Prairie Tree Apartments! The residents at Prairie Tree Apartments donated a variety of different items to the Humane Society of the Black Hills, everything from pet food to cleaning supplies to blankets and towels. Wednesday saw many items such as furniture, computers, & clothes being brought in for donation to The Club for Boys Thrift Store (https://www.theclubforboys.com/thrift-store) of Rapid City, SD. The Club for Boys Thrift Store is dedicated to providing quality and value in a customer focused environment through the generous support of the community, staff, and volunteers. Thursday, was document shredding day! Did you miss out on the document shredding day? No worries! Prairie Tree has a locked shredding bin in the office available for our residents to use. All you need to do is gather any documents you need shredded, bring the documents to the office, and deposit them into the shredding bin. Remember, identity theft is a real and prevalent problem. Cutters Grove Dog Olympics
On Saturday May 21st, 2016 Cutters Grove Apartments located in Anoka, MN held their first annual Doggie Olympics! There were 4 events that were held; first was the sit and stay competition, second was the agility course, third was the cone weave, and fourth was a dog race to their owners. The top three dogs in each event were awarded a medal. Winning dogs not only received a medal but also prizes such as a PetsMart gift card, grooming gift cards, treats, goodie bags, and all dogs received a free nail trim just for participating. Congratulations to our 1st place finishers Rufus, Annie, Merci, and Kizzie (and their owners)! We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our participants, dog owners, and spectators who came out for all of the events on a very warm Saturday afternoon! Polly is a long time resident of Butte County and with her husband raised five beautiful children near Nisland. You may know her already, but if not, you may have a chance to connect with her during her during her campaign for a seat on the Butte County Commission, District 2 in South Dakota. Polly spent six years as the Director of Equalization & Planning for Butte County and she is the Property Manager at Canyon Estates in Spearfish (properties/canyon-estates-spearfish.html) , Live Center (properties/live-center-lemmon.html) and Prairie West Apartments (properties/prairie-west-lemmon.html) in Lemmon, for Thies & Talle Management, Inc. She is now ready to use that knowledge and experience to serve the people of Butte County in a new capacity. Spring Training Meeting
On Tuesday March 15, 2016 Thies & Talle Management held a spring training meeting in Grand Rapids, MN. Staff members came from a variety of different areas including; Duluth, the Iron Range, Fargo, St. Cloud, and Michigan. The featured presentation of the day was from the Northland Counseling Center (https://northlandcounseling.org/) , located in Grand Rapids, MN. Northland Counseling Center Inc. is a nonprofit, Community Mental Health Center established in 1959, servicing communities in the counties of Itasca and Koochiching. The presenters from Northland Counseling Center were Audrey Moen a housing case manager that deals with supportive and permanent housing programs, Karolyn Teeters who is the contact person for case management and Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) workers, & Brandi Worrath who provides counseling services for clients with anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. The presenters covered a variety of topics including the services that the Northland Counseling Center offers, different community organizations Thies & Talle Management staff members can reach out to, the importance of properly dealing with issues of mental health, and how to utilize techniques used in Dialectic Behavior Therapy. After the featured presentation from the Northland Counseling Center, Thies & Talle staff members took over to introduce, refresh, and review a variety of different topics with the staff members in attendance. These topics included; using the Real Page Mobile Facilities Android App (https://www.realpage.com/onesite/facilities/) , prospect tracking, outreach marketing, monthly OneSite property reviews, monthly compliance reviews, an overview of the quarterly & annual performance review process and time sheet tracking.
